Summer’s Ending! Tips to get back into the swing of things.

Summer’s Ending! Tips to get back into the swing of things.

Summer is ending and I am certain that many of you can relate to the anxiety that comes about during this time of the year.  Parents may be getting ready to send their children back to school, vacationing for some may come to a halt, the roads may be more congested as people leave their homes earlier, and not to mention the stress of the Holidays approaching.  I’m with each and every one of you that can relate to the stress of September! This time of the year can definitely bring overwhelm and stress. So if you’re someone that’s already stressing, I want you to take a DEEP BREATH right now.  After you do this, then continue reading on to learn some helpful tips to keep your life in order.

TIP 1:  Give yourself extra time in the morning so that you are not rushing.

TIP 2:  Organize your home or the place where your spend most of your time. The last thing you want is to come home after a long day of work, to a place of clutter and chaos.  In no way would this be relaxing. On the contrary, it would heighten your stress levels.

TIP 3:  Adopt an Affirmation or Mantra that you can tell yourself on a consistent and daily basis to help keep you focused.  Here’s a Mantra that I often use, “I am whole, I am creative, and I am CAPABLE.”

TIP 4: Give yourself PERMISSION to not have everything perfect or completed.  You can be your worst critic, so be kind to yourself.

TIP 5:  Create a plan for the next few weeks as to how you will address important dates or tasks  (for example; If you need to buy school items or groceries, pick 1 day of the week to do this rather than constantly going to the store).

TIP 6:  Don’t wait until the day before to make changes.  Start today and begin small. Remember that small changes can go a long way.

TIP 7:  Don’t forget about SELF CARE.  It’s very easy to get caught up in dealing with our personal and work life.  At times, we put our own Self Care at risk because it may not be as important as things like the groceries you may need to buy or the swimming class you need to take your daughter to.  Set time aside each and every day to do something for YOU --whether it’s 10 minutes or 30 minutes.

TIP 8:  BREATHE, BREATHE, BREATHE. When you intentionally stop to take time to breathe, this can create more calmness in your emotional state.  That deep inhalation will give your mind time to reset. You will notice a positive change in your body, your mind, and your spirit.  Do this regularly especially if you are someone that is constantly on the move.
